education

Felix was educated at the King Edward VI School in Morpeth, Northumberland, where he was an active and versatile member of the school community. While studying for GCSE's, he took regular piano lessons, quickly progressing to a Grade 8 standard and later developing a passion for the organ. He also joined the community orchestra and ceilidh band, playing violin and performing in regular concerts. As well as instrumental groups, Felix also took regular singing lessons and sung in both of the school's chamber choirs.

Alongside his musical achievements, Felix excelled mathematically, winning a mathematics award and demonstrating leadership as Deputy Leader and later Leader of the school's astronomy club. As part of his leadership, he taught younger students astronomy and model rocketry, and led multiple astronomy nights in the school's student-built observatory.

Outside of music, Felix also has a passion for film photography, developing his own negatives and maintaining a collection of vintage analogue cameras. He is an accomplished traditional artist and enjoys plein air painting and drawing, with many examples of his work from his cycling tour across Europe, showcasing his ability to capture atmosphere through visual as well as musical mediums.

Besides more traditional mediums, Felix is also a skilled 3D artist, utilising Blender for more technical projects involving photorealistic rendering and motion tracking.

adventure

An experienced fly fisherman and amateur microlight pilot with over 20 hours of flight time, Felix is also a keen adventurer. One of Felix's most ambitious achievements was solo cycling across 7 different countries at 19 years old, travelling 300 miles across the U.K. from Leeds to Harwich, and then a further 1,700 miles across Europe, travelling the entire length of the Netherlands and Germany, stopping in Prague for two days, and then making the return journey back through Czechia, Austria, Switzerland and France.

music

While studying at Leeds Conservatoire, Felix earned a choral scholarship singing with the Leeds Minster choir, later also joining their sister choir, the St. Peter's Singers of Leeds. With a combined five years of experience across both choirs, Felix is an accomplished choral singer and is proud to have sung in many cathedrals across the UK, most notably at Durham Cathedral.

Felix is also passionate about music engraving, whereby working on his own numerous orchestral compositions has given him a keen eye for detail and accuracy in musical scores. His attention to detail has regularly impressed clients by carrying out commissions to his high and exacting standards.

Now having earned his First-Class Honours degree, Felix enjoys offering piano, composition, and music theory tuition to beginner and intermediate level students of all ages.
